The snapshot exposed 56 signatures (50 f32 and six masks). f64 and integers were not yet callable.

Recorded validation

All 20 additions used scalar kernels. Native scalar/Wasm scalar had 56 V; NEON/SIMD128 had 17 V + 39 F; AVX2 had 17 I + 39 F. V remained local macOS arm64/Node evidence, with browser smoke separately scoped.

Release checks passed with 324 TS and five Rust tests, including 100 new TS cases. Four backend modes exercised ordinary/resident APIs. Independent BigInt f32-expanded references covered cancellation around 2^100, f64 dot products, large-mean/small-variance data, minimum subnormals and maximum finite f32. Scans covered lengths 0/1/3/4/7/8/9/17/65/257/1025. Combination tests verified broadcast, all exact output aliases and separate multiply/add rounding.

Direct ABI tests rejected wrong families, pointers, layouts, flags, ddof, expired allocations and overlap before output writes. Instrumentation verified resident reductions made no per-call copyTo/allocate calls. Extension and packed-package checks passed. Chromium/WebKit passed 20 tests; Firefox's ten failed during launch. Other native targets and that phase's minimum-Node evidence remained pending.

Benchmarks and evidence

The old bench:p3 (now bench:reductions) checked and timed 216 cases across sum/dot/variance/l2Norm/cumsum/scaleAdd/mulAdd/lerp, sizes 16/1,024/262,144, JS and four backend modes with ordinary/resident calls. Seven samples, median/MAD, iterations, toolchain and asset hashes were retained. Resident timing excluded upload/allocation. The direct f64 JS reference did not have the same compensation cost.

Rust core measurements added 32 cases to the original eight, for 40 total. All new rows were scalar. No fixed speed threshold or broad speedup was claimed. Logs were under artifacts/p3/; the complete source/hash/log/benchmark checkpoint was artifacts/baseline/p3-2026-09-19/. Its overall status stayed failed due to Firefox.
